Subverting Christmas

I've written about Christmas before.  This post, in a way, summarises my thoughts towards it.
Christmas is celebrated on 25th December, right?  It is thought that this date was chosen because a pagan festival to the sun was already celebrated on this day.  Basically, Christianity subverted the festival that was already their and turned it into a Christian celebration of Jesus' incarnation.

Fast-forward a couple of thousand years.  Christians now find themselves living in a culture which holds what is essentially a pagan festival on 25th December.  And it needs subverting again, to turn it back into a celebration of the incarnation.

Specifics to follow sometime.
